My name is Rob Ferguson and I am a photographer based in Oklahoma City. I have a passion for sports photography and currently shoot for the OKC Barons (AHL Affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers NHL). I also enjoy shooting creative on location portraits.
My approach is simple, direct and most of all fun. If you don’t have fun on a shoot, it shows in the images. I love working with people from all walks of life, shooting just about any subject and having everyone at ease around the camera.
Photography started for me with a sixth grade project "Pin Hole" photography. The school brought in a professional photographer, Gaylord Youngheim. He spent 2 weeks at the school and stayed late for those of us who wanted to learn more. By the time his two-week visit was over I had three pinhole cameras, several photos and the workings for a darkroom (set that up in my mom's laundry room).
Growing up, I could never really afford the really nice cameras or processing equipment but what I had, I made do with. It taught me how to work with light, made sure I got the best possible shot and not waste my precious film. I feel those lessons learned are priceless.
I love having the ability to capture a moment in time and document life's journey. For me photography is the ultimate media.
I hope you enjoy my photos. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask.
Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
